Supporting schools to understand, challenge and respond to misogyny in schools.
This half-day event brings together primary and secondary schools to explore the growing issue of misogyny in education. It will support schools to strengthen their approaches to safeguarding, RSHE and pupil wellbeing, with a focus on promoting healthy relationships, respect and inclusion so that all pupils feel safe, valued and supported.

The event will include a keynote from 'Talk Consent' and councillor address, setting the context for tackling misogyny in schools.
Participants will then take part in interactive workshops, including:
The award winning 'Soundproof Box', will perform one of their fully immersive Red Flags show exploring and tackling misogyny through real-life, actor-led scenarios.
A session from 'Tender' focused on promoting healthy relationships, using arts and drama based approaches.
A case study from a Leeds secondary school showcasing their approach to tackling sexual harassment and sexism, followed by closing input from Getaway Girls introducing Thriving in Education: A Charter for Girls and Young Women and next steps.
Outcome
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Develop a clearer understanding of how misogyny presents in school settings and its impact on pupils,
- Gain practical strategies to address sexual harassment and sexism through a whole-school approach,
- Strengthen understanding of links to safeguarding, RSHE and pupil wellbeing,
- Increase confidence in promoting healthy relationships, respect and inclusion,
- Identify next steps to implement within their own setting.

Tea and coffee will be available from 9.00am and the event will begin at 9.15am prompt.
This event has been kindly funded by the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership, enabling schools to attend at no cost therefore there is no cost for any Leeds primary, secondary or post 16 school or setting to attend this session.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so early booking is recommended.
Cancellation Fee
If you have booked a place and are unable to attend or need to cancel your place, please cancel via your Leeds for Learning account at least 48 hours in advance of the event so that we can release your place to delegates on the waiting list. The event is free but we reserve the right to impose a charge of £25 where delegates do not attend and have not informed us of their cancellation.
