Porcupines, possums and pufferfish - Behaviours as a survival adaptations This session will underline trauma-informed practice and aim to make sense of some of the shared language we have in Leeds around trauma and adversity. We will expand on this and the idea of "behaviour as communication" toward an understanding of "behaviours as survival adaptations" and consider approaches that support survival responses in children and young people impacted by adversity. Misogyny The Manosphere and Incel Movement The Manosphere is a network of online men's communities promoting anti-feminist and sexist beliefs encouraging resentment, misogyny, hatred or even violence towards women and girls, as well as potential links to extremist groups and ideologies. Leeds Prevent have seen an increase in support for misogynistic influencers and content encouraging misogyny online. This training takes a look into this emerging threat and provides an overview of the Manosphere with links to extremist ideologies along with how to tackle this concern. Recognising and Responding to Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) in Schools Basis Yorkshire's young person's team will be delivering a session focused on awareness of child sexual exploitation, how to recognise the signs that a young person is experiencing CSE and what you can do as school staff to support young people and yourself.
