An overview of how frequent, intense and unresolved parental conflict can affect children and their wellbeing.

This course explores the impact of parental conflict on children, the difference between conflict and domestic abuse, and how schools can support families. It highlights practical resources, support pathways and a whole school approach to promoting healthy parental relationships.

Learn why healthy parental relationships matter; understand the distinction between parental conflict and domestic abuse; explore how ongoing arguments can affect family life; and consider how structured approaches with boundaries can support separated families.

Gain an understanding of the training available for professionals working with parents who experience frequent conflict; explore practical resources and tools; identify routes for parents to access relationship support; and understand how schools can adopt a whole-school approach to promoting healthy parental relationships, including policy development.

There is no cost to any Leeds school for this session.

Cancellation Fee

If you have booked a place and are unable to attend or need to cancel your place, please cancel via your Leeds for Learning account at least 48 hours in advance of the event so that we can release your place to delegates on the waiting list. The event is free but we reserve the right to impose a charge of £25 where delegates do not attend and have not informed us of their cancellation.
