This document is designed to support schools in developing or updating their Relationships Education (RE) or Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) policy in line with the 2025 statutory RSHE guidance. It provides a structured starting point, using a set of headings and questions, that schools can use to reflect their individual context, values, and community.
The guidance helps ensure that each school’s policy is compliant, inclusive, and meaningful, clearly outlining the school’s approach to RSE, how it meets statutory requirements, and how it supports pupils’ health, wellbeing, and safety.
