Virtual: Flavour School Launch Event

We invite members of school staff from Key Stage 1 and EYFS to be part of this virtual event and find out how to deliver the Flavour School curriculum first hand. You will have the opportunity to understand how delivering Flavour School can help to increase children’s curiosity, confidence and willingness to try new foods.

The ultimate goal is to empower children to have a positive relationship with food and eating. The focus is on helping children to better understand their eating experiences, and to approach new foods on their own terms, so they can be more confident and discerning eaters, and more willing to explore and enjoy a wider range of foods and flavours.

This is a no cost event and is suitable for school staff involved in teaching, planning or leading curriculum activities in EYFS, Year 1 or Year 2. Senior leadership can also attend this event and disseminate to relevant members of staff.

Delegates will be invited to attend the pupil and teacher curriculum workshop event in the Autumn where you will receive a free curriculum pack to be able to set up and deliver Flavour School.

Outcomes:

This event will include learning on the following topics (subject to change):

  • An introduction to flavour school as a programme,
  • How to increase pupils confidence, curiosity and willingness to try new foods,
  • An opportunity to test of delivery of the activities with your pupils,
  • Learn how flavour school and link and support other areas of school life such as school meals
