Training Courses

School Food Ambassadors Pupil Training - Advanced/Secondary

Outline

This course is ideal for schools (pupils) who have already attended the initial pupil training, advanced ambassadors (who are experienced in their role) or secondary pupils.

Description

This new course will build on pupil’s knowledge and experience, providing them with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of food and nutrition in schools. As ambassadors, they will gain skills and techniques for transforming food provision and culture in their own school through empowering staff, pupils and parents together. Pupils will learn about how they can drive forward change and help their school to meet outcomes from the Childhood Obesity Plan and also measure and monitor compliance for the School Food Standards across the whole school day.

Due to limited capacity each school is invited to bring up to two School Food Ambassadors who must be accompanied by one member of staff (ideally your SFA lead officer). Drinks will be provided and delegates (pupils and staff) are invited to bring their own healthy snack.
