Covid-19 - Resources to support children’s wellbeing and education for schools, parents and carers

'Health from Here to Where' Resources

PSHE Association has collaborated with RSPH and the Health Foundation to create free to download lesson plans, teacher guidance and a wealth of accompanying materials which focus on the factors that influence our health and wellbeing.

The lessons take their inspiration from a dystopian short story by Tim Byrne, which won a national competition run by RSPH and the Health Foundation. The focus throughout the lessons is on raising awareness of steps young people can take to support their physical and emotional health whilst recognising the influences, limitations and constraints on these decisions.

Aimed at year 9 and 10 students, this resource seeks to support schools to build student resilience to unhealthy wellbeing choices. It helps raise awareness of the social, environmental and economic factors that influence our health such as our education and employment opportunities; our housing; our social networks; where we live, and the extent such factors facilitate exercise, a good diet and social connection. It also helps students develop skills such as critical evaluation of advertising and problem-solving.

We are keen to share tools and resources as best we can, to support children’s wellbeing and education over this period of uncertainty. With this in mind, we have produced a range of advice and free resources for schools, as well as resources for parents/carers in your school.
