The Alcohol Education Trust (AET) is offering a virtual 2 hour Talk About Alcohol (TAA) training session for secondary teaching and pastoral staff looking at evaluated resources for use in secondary schools, PRU's, and SEN Schools. The course aims to improve staff confidence in delivering effective alcohol education to young people.

Details

The session will look at ways to deliver the six evaluated lessons covering:

• Assessment.
• Alcohol and its effects, (both social and physical).
• Alcohol and the law.
• Units and guidelines.
• Staying safe.

There is a strong emphasis on games, activities and social norms, teaching positive approaches and resilience that engage young people around alcohol and the issues they face as they get older. The sessions are fun, interactive and engaging.

AET will be able to support Secondary Schools with a funded copy of their Teacher Workbook and a funded Talk About Alcohol Activity Box, (for more vulnerable young people who may have SEND, be Looked After or disengaged from mainstream school) .
