This training will support anyone who is involved in the provision, delivery or management of school food.

The main focus of this training will be school meals but food provided at times other than lunch (breakfast, break & after school) will also be discussed.

The session will allow time to review your own menus, with support from our school food advisor (who is a qualified nutritionist) to ensure that your school is providing appealing menus that are fully compliant with the School Food Standard.


The School Food Standards are a statutory compliance for all schools. This training will particularly provide support for schools who provide in-house catering or private catering providers.

During the session you will have the opportunity to review your own menus to ensure they are fully compliant. On completion of the training, and any necessary adjustments made to menus, delegate will receive a certificate of compliance.

We will also look at how to plan menus to meet cultural and dietary needs and ensure that food served goes above and beyond the food standard to support healthier eating habits.

You will be supported to know how to communicate menus with parents and pupils and explore ideas for consultation. We will also discuss ways fun and exciting menus can encourage and promote a varied diet.

Schools with a current Health & Wellbeing SLA may be entitled to pre-paid places subject to sufficient available training credits. The full 'pay as you go' price will be applied if you have insufficient training credits.
