A new free safeguarding resource developed by Cass Productions in collaboration with Blue Apple Theatre with the Hampshire Police Crime Commissioner and Hampshire County Council has been released for use across the UK at no cost.

This short video aims to alert people to the exploitation risk of vulnerable adults whose accommodation can be used by unscrupulous drugs gangs in a process known as ‘cuckoo-ing’.  The video and accompanying educational resources were developed with the Hampshire police and they are now being freely distributed across the UK, among all sectors with a connection to vulnerable adults.

See No Evil is a short film created alongside educational drama and discussion activities, to raise awareness about bullying, prejudicial language and ‘county lines’ drugs gangs. The part-animated video by Cass Productions, features four of Blue Apple’s actors who all have learning disabilities, as well as real-life police officers.

Free educational resources are available to accompany the video and those interested may also request a workshop with drama and discussion activities, co-facilitated by members of Blue Apple Theatre. The project was developed with the Hampshire Police Crime Commissioner and Hampshire County Council with the intention that it be used to:

  • Train staff on safeguarding issues,
  • Understand bullying and reporting hate crimes,
  • Start a discussion about prejudicial language,
  • Help prevent exploitation and abuse,
  • Raise awareness about county lines drugs gangs,
  • Promote understanding within educational settings.

“The work of the Blue Apple actors and all those behind the scenes have ensured the viewer understands the complexities and dynamics within the story, it clearly shows the impact on the victim and how this reaches across the network of those that care for vulnerable people.” Nick Plummer Detective Chief Inspector,  Hampshire & IOW Police
