BNF Healthy Eating Week 2019

Developed by the British Nutrition Foundation, Healthy Eating Week 2019 (10th-14th June) invites a multitude of organisations around the world such as schools, workplaces and universities to focus on healthy eating, sleeping well, and encouraging physical activity for one week in June.

The aim of the week is to inspire an all-encompassing approach to healthy eating for teachers, pupils, staff and employees alike in order to enhance overall well-being, boost morale and productivity.

Following on from the success of Healthy Eating Week 2018, the BNF recommended to focus on five key messages:

  1. 5-A-Day
  2. Importance of Breakfast
  3. Keeping hydrated
  4. Physical activity
  5. Sleeping well

Organisations and schools were able to choose how to deliver these messages- practical activities seemed to be a firm favourite this year, which is always a great way to have fun whilst promoting an important message! By signing up to register, free resources were also available, personalised to the nature of the establishment to encourage engagement with the programme.

Want to join in the fun, or simply looking for some inspiration for next year? Search #BNFHEW19 on Twitter to see all the great work throughout the week so far!

We are keen to share tools and resources as best we can, to support children’s wellbeing and education over this period of uncertainty. With this in mind, we have produced a range of advice and free resources for schools, as well as resources for parents/carers in your school.

These resources are updated every week so please check them on a regular basis.
