'Giving to Help Others' KS2 resources awarded PSHE Association Quality Mark
‘Giving to Help Others’, founded by The Team Margot Foundation and NHS Blood and Transplant, have created a new PSHE lesson to help spread the word about the power of blood, stem cell and bone marrow donation, and to raise the number of adult donors both now and in the future.
This free resource includes PowerPoint lessons, videos, comprehensive teacher notes and activities. It will help your Key Stage 2 pupils identify ways that they can help others, whilst further exploring why adults choose to donate blood, stem cells and bone marrow.
This resource has just been granted the PSHE Association Quality Mark, and includes an optional extension activity for pupils to create a donation awareness campaign within their local community, to inspire others to get involved.
Subject Specialist Claire Keech says:
“We are pleased to award our quality mark to the Team Margot & NHS Blood and Transplant ‘Giving to help others’ resource pack, which supports teachers to teach pupils about roles they can take in their communities and about aspects of helping others. The engaging materials support pupils to apply their learning to raise awareness of donation, whilst for teachers the resource will be a valuable addition to their PSHE curriculum.”
Mike Stredder, Director of Blood for NHS Blood and Transplant says:
“Blood and stem cell donation save lives and these resources will enable teachers to explore not just the science of donation, but also the creative and community aspects of donation. We’re proud to have worked with The Team Margot Foundation on these resources and they will be available on our website.”
