National School Meals Week
National School Meal Week 2017 is taking place from 13th November until 17th November. It is the one week of the year where the school meals industry celebrates and showcases all that is great about school food. Some of the aims for this year included; the promotion of school food, encouraging non users to trial the service and encourage school chefs to work in high profile venues to demonstrate their professionalism. Over the past few years school meals have undergone a lot of improvements and are now the best they have ever been meaning that school lunches are now something to be celebrated.
There are various activities that schools can take part in as part of National School Meal Week are listed below.
#cookeditmyselfie – Send your pictures of the best examples of school meals to be in with a chance of winning £500’s worth of marketing resources or equipment. Send your pictures on Twitter to @NSMW using the hashtag #cookeditmyselfie.
National Roast Dinner Day – This will take place on Wednesday 15th November. For this event as a school you could give the opportunity for pupils to invite their family members into the dining room to experience how good the school food is.
Theme Days – There are a variety of example theme days for both primary and secondary school with associated resources on the website. These templates are free for everyone to use.
